When a global Fortune 500 corporation contacted Digital Legal Tampa for assistance with a time sensitive project, the company was ready to go. Jud Parker, principal of Digital Legal Tampa, partnered with IPRO Tech to get the job done within one week.
“We had seven days to process 40 GB of ESI and manage a multi-state, multi-party review by our client, outside counsel and opposing counsel,” said Parker. “We often face tight deadlines, but none of these parties had reviewed documents online. Harnessing the power of IPRO Nimbus, the software as a service platform for IPRO eCapture, Digital Legal Tampa had tremendous processing power. Designed around a distributed, multi-threaded model, IPRO eCapture handles virtually any size e-discovery job. IPRO’s tech support team was able to increase processing speed by simply adding workstations. With the use of IPRO Nimbus, Digital Legal Tampa also eliminated its own cost for an enterprise level e-Discovery application.
IPRO Nimbus also gave Nick Carter, Digital Legal Tampa’s Director of Technology, the ability to initiate a three-pronged discovery method. First, he de-duped and filtered the data to reduce the initial collection by 68 percent. He then extracted text and metadata from the remaining 13 GB to facilitate an efficient review for relevance and privilege. Ultimately the Digital Legal Tampa team converted a manageable number of native files to TIFF images with text – just 6800 images.
“IPRO Nimbus provided remarkable flexibility, enabling us to employ a cost-effective processing strategy,” said Parker. “We estimate this three-pronged method saved our client at least $35,000 – and, equally important, we dramatically reduced the time and resources needed for our clients to review duplicate and irrelevant documents.”
IPRO eReview was also a cost-effective hosting solution for Digital Legal Tampa’s clients. The use of IPRO eReview maximizes the potential for quick and accurate data analysis. In addition, IPRO eReview partners such as Digital Legal Tampa and their clients do not need to purchase, install, and maintain software in their own environments.
Carter says that migrating the processed data directly from IPRO Nimbus to IPRO eReview was the fastest possible way to ensure quality control. What also made the IPRO systems so valuable was that Digital Legal Tampa was able to conduct remote training for all parties – which they were very pleased with.
